Welcome 2011 Camping Season!  We are stoked that it’s almost camping season and we get to have more fun with the T@b!

We decided to pull out the T@b and risk the cold weather (21 degrees)…it’s been a learning experience.  Our biggest learning moment was with the Cool Cat Heat Pump.  We set up, plugged in, turned on the heat and it blew COLD COLD COLD air.  After going to Home Depot, replacing all the fuses, re-testing the fuses, re-testing the fuses and then re-testing one more time we were dumbfounded.  So, I got on my phone and started googling…turns out that the Heat Pump pulls the air and then warms it…so if it’s TO COLD outside (like today) it will not heat the air.  Luckily our good friends came to the rescue.  After looking at it and comparing it to their own trailer – we both gained what we call a “Learning Experience.”  He has had the same issue with his and we just figured out together about how a heat pump works.

He did in his usual “hero” fashion come bearing a space heater which has warmed the inside just as efficient as the heat pump.  So all you 1 or 2 T@b owners who read this…needs to be ~40F outside for your heat pump to work.

With gas prices increasing this summer we are thinking of keeping our trips local to Colorado.  Our dream is to end this season with a trip to Yosemite, so stay tuned.  With our good friends leaving to go back to Canada (hero mentioned above), we want to try and get some trips in with them.  We also have some friends who just bought their first trailer, so hopefully we can enjoy a few trips with them as well.

As for Cherry Creek – perfect “city camping”.  Site has Wi-Fi, nice bathrooms, showers, friendly staff.  Sites are good distances apart and in warmer weather I think there is enough distance to enjoy the camping experience without tripping over your neighbors.

Happy Trails – hope everyone has a great 2011 camping season!
